our Project
Guides + Patterns

Every student starts somewhere. That's why we use the guided project series from Kids Can  Sew©.  They have a wonderful step by step approach designed to help young sewists grow from beginners into confident, capable makers.  With multiple levels to progress through, students continue building skills, creativity and confidence as they create projects they're proud of.

WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Kids Can Sew© level 1 is for beginners with little to no sewing experience.  Level 1 focuses on learning basic sewing skills, machine use, and simple project construction through guided hands on projects.

BEST FIT FOR: First time sewists ages 8-12

Kids Can Sew© level 1.5 encourages students to strengthen their skills learned in level 1 while introducing more detailed projects and new sewing techniques.  This can also be used as a first level if these projects are preferred over those in level one.

BEST FIT FOR:  Students who have completed level 1 or those already comfortable using a sewing machine independantly. Sewists ages 8-12

Level 2 of the Kids Can Sew© curriculum helps the students grow from capable beginners into confident creators.  Through increasingly challenging projects, students strengthen their techniques learned in levels 1/1.5 while learning to sew with greater precision and independence.

BEST FIT FOR: Students who have completed levels 1 or 1.5

Girls Level 3 is continues to expand what the students have learned in the previous levels through more complex project construction and skill building techniques.  This level encourages creativity, independence, and confidence while helping students develop strong sewing habits and attention to detail.

BEST FIT FOR: Students who have completed level 2

Designed for first time or returning sewists, Teen & Adult Level 1 helps students move from feeling unsure to confidently creating projects they can be proud of.  Learn the essential sewing techniques, safe machine use, and foundational construction skills through 6 different projects.

BEST FIT FOR: Teens with little to no sewing experience

Hello,
I am Danielle the instructor here in the NATZ Sewing Studio.  I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kiddos and passionate about sewing.  I love encouraging creativity and helping students develop skills, confidence, and independence so they too can discover the JOY of creative expression using a sewing machine.

ANITA - Parent

“I would encourage other parents to sign their children up as this was a fun experience and an opportunity for my daughter to learn a new skill"

Kristina-Parent

Danielle is an approachable, friendly teacher. She gives clear and positive instructions and feedback. The end product is always amazing.

Michelle, parent

Honestly my daughter enjoyed the whole process. She hadn't done a lot of machine or hand stitching yet and was thrilled that she got to do both.

THE STUDIO

The studio is located in the basement of our home and is where Danielle, our instructor, spends a lot of time creating fun sewing projects for herself, family and friends.  She is excited to share this space with each student so they too can find joy in the creative expression of sewing.
